Event Director - Program Management/ Content Development The Director, Program Management at Gartner’s celebrated Events organisation is responsible for developing the product strategy and supporting the achievement of high revenue and profit targets for a portfolio of mainly CIO-focused events in Europe. The Director leads a high impact, cross-functional team of Research and WW Events associates, and is charged with collaborating on the overall direction and development of the conference content and product features. Responsibilities include: Identify key market opportunities and growth strategies for the event portfolio. Lead market-research and needs-assessment initiatives to support product development, i.e., for audience (surveys/advisory boards/focus groups), sponsors (surveys/advisory boards/focus groups), competitive intelligence. Articulate event value proposition to clients (internal and external), sponsors and prospects. Develop event strategies and business cases. Create programs which meet and exceed the comprehensive and complex audience requirements. Create the most compelling client-driven content based on market needs by sourcing both internal and external content sources. Agenda development, management and delivery. Work with marketing team to articulate value propositions and create compelling audience-acquisition campaigns. Work with sponsorship sales to understand market opportunity, create products that accelerate sales process, target sponsors, and increase retention. Assist in development of sponsor value proposition. Work with operations and logistics teams to ensure optimal event experience and client satisfaction. Collaborate in creating the most compelling client experience to drive retention and referral. Continually work to refresh the event value proposition utilizing consistent evaluation and product-development processes. Build and support a team culture of innovation. Collaborate with all internal teams across the different products and client groups we serve. Collaborate with global counterparts to consolidate the global footprint/brand. Qualifications Bachelors Degree in addition to 8 years of business experience including 2-5 years content development experience. Strong background in conference/event content/agenda development. Familiarity with broad spectrum of IT disciplines and markets (desired, but not necessary). Budget-management and financial-forecasting experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build and leverage relationships both internally and externally. Experience in supporting marketing/communications efforts to promote products. Excellent ability to work under pressure and to deliver to robust timelines Ability to identify, research, and define market opportunity. New product/event development experience. Ability to demonstrate creativity and innovation while executing flawlessly. Decision-making abilities. Ability to objectively measure product success. Leadership experience
