Description: This critical position is responsible for developing the content, programs, and experiences of several Gartner Events, as well as overall management of those events. The Senior Program Manager owns the event(s) assigned and is tasked to drive two key activities. Develop the event strategy and business cases for driving growth, profitability and retention. Work with the Event Chair to create the most compelling attendee-driven conference agenda based on market needs and requirements. To achieve desired results, the Senior Program Manager collaborates closely with various stakeholders including: Gartner Research and Gartner Consulting Audience Acquisition / Marketing Sponsorship Sales Conference Operations / Logistics Research Marketing and Sales Specifically, the Senior Program Manager: Drives primary and secondary market research in order to understand client issues and drive Gartner Events positioning and growth Identifies and defines target audience for his or her events Identifies and defines sponsorship opportunities for his or her events Identifies and evaluates competitive events, including attending competitive events Create client-focused programs that will deliver the highest results Evangelizes and promotes portfolio conferences to internal and external constituents Innovates conference experiences, content and formats Contribute to creating the event or portfolio strategy, in collaboration with other global colleagues & stakeholders Works closely with Events Marketing to create compelling messaging and campaigns to drive growth and increase retention, as well as assist in the development of partnerships with associates, user groups, and media sources Collaborates with Events Sales to identify prospective sponsors/exhibitors, accelerate the sales process and increase retention Collaborates with Event Operations to ensure efficient and cost-effective solutions to achieve optimal attendee and sponsor experiences Secures keynote speakers, panels and case studies Qualifications Bachelors Degree; MBA preferred 3-7 years’ experience as conference producer / experience including content agenda creation, speaker management preferred Convention, conference or content-rich program planning experience is a must. Proven track record creating and executing strategy Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative matrix environment, with strong stakeholder management skills Excellent written and oral communication Desire for global / multinational event experience Good multi-project management, prioritization, time management capacity IT familiarity or interest a plus Ability to accommodate moderate travel, including international
