To support our future ambitions, we are seeking a talented Associate Consultant to take a key role in the development of this sector. Gartner’s strategy, which you will be implementing, is to focus on a small number of clients, with whom we will build strategic relationships, based on consulting capabilities in world class areas of expertise: IT Strategy IT Cost Optimisation Applications Modernisation (including ERP) Infrastructure Modernisation Sourcing IT Security Led by our Managing Partners, we will be bold and develop sustaining relationships with select clients by selling and delivering large, high impact engagements focused on our clients‘ most important IT initiatives, using repeatable solutions based on distinctive capabilities and a high degree of industry relevance in our top talent engagement teams. Gartner engagements are typically high-value, strategic engagements, ranging from 3 months or more and up to $1m+. Gartner is not transaction oriented, we concentrate on our overall relationship with a client, not selling a large transaction. Teams are formed from industry and solution experts, often, but not exclusively drawn from our European consulting group. Team sizes are usually up to five consultants, and seldom over ten. Job Requirements Role Accountabilities and duties: You will be working within our clients’ organisations making a real difference in delivering real business value assisting our clients in successfully managing their technology investments and defining their Go-to-Market IT strategies. Furthermore, you will: Assist in the delivery and contribute to small to medium-sized engagements and contribute to key sections of small to medium-sized engagement proposals Develop and document issues and recommendations using independent judgment and guidance from senior team members concerning engagement areas being reviewed Participate in interviews with client management and key stakeholders to assist in the capturing of client business conditions, risks and controls (i.e., Preparation and completion of interview notes) Assist in the development of comprehensive cost / benefits analysis and preparation of client business cases for technology investments. Assist in coordinating and communicating the results of engagements via written reports and presentations Maintain a research consultant level expertise and currency in industry leading information management technologies Contribute in the drafting of engagement reports and presenting drafts to your manager for review and approval Assist in the development of client relationships Contribute to the development of project management, quality assurance and professional consulting and auditing approaches/methodologies Present a professional image in conduct and attitude Requirements Gartner Consulting are looking for enthusiastic, committed consulting professionals who are able to work with minimal supervision. You should be a self-starter and able to work under pressure. Ideally you will have a minimum of an undergraduate degree or recognised diploma in a technology or business related field, an MBA from a top program is preferred. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years demonstrable experience in either a technical or business environment. Preference will be given to consulting experience, achieved within an established business and/or IT consulting firm. Additionally you will have: Outstanding leadership capabilities, illustrating proficiency in both verbal and written communications. A high degree of personal integrity and strong interpersonal skills A willingness to commit the additional time and effort necessary during periods of heavy workload in order to meet engagement milestones and deadlines. Experience writing and delivering business reports and high quality executive presentations. Very strong verbal and written communication skills (English).
